Description: The Trench Rescue course is designed to impact knowledge and develop skills in order to properly shore trenches and to mitigate a trench cave-in rescue quickly with minimum danger to those involved. It will teach the student how to utilize equipment and resources already at their disposal as well as recognize the resources in the community that can be readily used in Trench Rescue. This class is taught in a regional basis by TARS certified college level instructors.

Reference Material: First Due Trench is the textbook referenced in the class; students are highly suggested to obtain a copy of this book.

Notes: Students Personal Protective Equipment for this class shall include:
ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 Class E Type I Approved Helmet or Construction type hard hat
ANSI Z87.1+ Approved Eye protection
Long pants
Hard sole shoes preferably steel toe
Leather gloves or extrication type gloves
Tools needed and to be provided by the student to include:
Hammer minimum 16oz
Nail apron
Tape measure Minimum 25 ft.
Pencil and some type of small writing pad
OSHA 1910/1926.502; ANSI Z359 Approved Fall Protection Safety Harness and lanyard.
